Today, as usual, I am drinking alone. Bakuren, which I’ve had before. This woman in kimono always catches my eye and attracts my attention. And this time, the label says “super dry” on it. I knew it couldn’t be bad, so I got it on impulse.

Bakuren, limited edition, freshly brewed, and “super dry

The eccentric coloring of the Japanese paper-like design. It’s a very good taste.
I did a little research and found out that

Bakuren” is an unfamiliar word, but in the Yamagata dialect, it means a woman who does not listen to her parents and does as she pleases. The ukiyoe-style illustration of a glamorous woman on the bottle label was drawn with this image in mind. The crisp, mature taste of Bakuren may overlap with this image of women.
Enjyo SAKE
I had associated “爆連” with an aggressive kanji character on its own, but it was a dialect. I learned one thing.

The “limited edition,” “freshly brewed,” and “super dry,” which make me fall in love with them. If you look closely, you will see a modern design of a woman dressed in kimono drinking sake in a modern glass.

The design of the glass has a turtle pattern, just like the Kamenoi sake brewery.

Opening the bottle

Slightly sweet with a banana aroma.
Gulp!

I guess I like Yamagata sake.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had bakuren. I went to buy Akabaku, and after much agonizing, I bought the rainbow color. Aroma of muscat or pineapple or something?
Super dry? No, no. The sweetness and umami spread out and then it suddenly snapped. The preceding umami sweetness is not so common in akabaku. I wonder what the liquor stores that are making fun of Aruzoe are trying to do? It’s so delicious…

The mouthfeel is slightly sweet. The finish is refreshing. It is not as dry as I imagined, but it is easy to drink. It is suitable for beginners to those who want to upgrade their skills. It has a taste that can be appreciated after drinking a certain amount of sake. It is either a mellow sake or a refreshing sake. It seems to go well with both oily and light dishes. As expected, “Bakuren” can be drunk on its own. It is a pre-dinner or mid-dinner drink.
Today’s snack

Cucumbers are the best on a hot day, so we rehydrated ourselves with a simple snack of salted kelp, sesame seeds, and natto (fermented soybeans).
