Today, too, I am drinking sake by myself. As usual, I’m drinking sake that I’m interested in. It’s been one year. Thank you very much for those who have been watching this site from the beginning. I feel that the sake season has finally started when the autumn hiyaoroshi (autumn harvest) is released. Sake liquor stores are also crowded with various brands of sake. It is natural that after the rice harvest, sake is made to support the farmers. In the old days, it used to be hard work, with hands plunging into cold water in biting temperatures from early in the morning. In recent years, with air conditioning and electricity, the harshness of the natural world seems to have been slightly lessened, but the physical labor seems to have remained the same.

Putting those feelings aside, I just want to enjoy the food and go to the bar today!

I did some research.

Yui is the 16th post town on the 53 Stages of the Tokaido Highway, and was even depicted in ukiyoe paintings by the Edo period painter Hiroshige Utagawa. In 1912, Kinzo Mochizuki and his son Yoshimatsu, who were engaged in forestry and sericulture in the mountains north of where the brewery is now located, founded a sake brewery out of their passion for sake. When they started brewing sake, they searched for water suitable for sake and set up their brewery beside the Kanazawa River.

This is a no-muss, no-fuss beer. Good sharpness. Easy to drink. It may take some time for beginners to get used to it, but once you do, it is very tasty. It seems to go well with both fish and meat. It is a drinker’s dream.

For today’s snack, we wanted to try a pairing, so I went all out and had Wagyu beef steak!

I tried to see if sake and wagyu steak really go well together. I discovered that it was a revolutionary match. I discovered that modern-flavored sake in a wine glass goes well with Wagyu beef.

It was another good day.
