I’ve been curious about this place for quite a while just because of its name: Ramen Ninja in Akihabara. It serves Jiro-style ramen.

Ramen Ninja in Akihabara
The entrance is narrow and a little dirty, so it’s a bit hard to walk in, but I went in anyway because I wanted ramen. The sign says, “Hungry customers are welcome!” It also says, “Up to five free toppings.” Yellow sign

Just like the exterior, the interior is also in fairly poor condition. The ticket machine accepts cash only. Electronic payment methods are not accepted.

The restaurant has only counter seating and can accommodate about 10 people. When walking past the back of the counter, there’s only enough space for one person to pass through.
Inside the store
There’s water in the corner. Pour it yourself. It’s a store with concrete walls.

Just as the sign says, the toppings are free. Vegetables, garlic, pork back fat, karame, fried toppings, curry mayonnaise, and black sesame oil—except for the vegetables, the flavors are quite strong. This is the first time I’ve seen curry mayonnaise as a topping.

As always, the way people order at Jiro-style ramen shops is quite unique.

Here it is. Check out this look. This time, I ordered the special ramen. The portion is huge. I wonder if I can actually finish it all. The interior looks just like any other ramen shop.

There are only men here. Just as I thought. Anyway, the portion size is insane. Halfway through, it started to feel like a battle—like if I left any leftovers, I’d lose.

It’s delicious, but there’s just so much noodles that it takes a while to finish. The flavor is a bit richer than I expected. The noodles are chewy and delicious, and since this is a special ramen, it includes other types of meat besides the chashu—all of which are incredibly tender and tasty. However, since I’m not a big eater, the meat left at the end felt a bit heavy. I did manage to finish the whole bowl, but I didn’t feel like eating anything else for the rest of the day. I definitely recommend giving it a try.
I was very satisfied again today.
Thank you for your support.
