Kaisensushi, Shiogama Port
I went to Oimachi Tracks, which recently opened. There, I checked out the conveyor-belt sushi restaurant that always has a line. The line splits into one for dining at tables and another for standing sushi. I joined the line for the standing sushi. The wait was about 20 minutes.
The main branch is a sushi restaurant located in Miyagi Prefecture. They also operate a separate sushi restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo. The fish served at this sushi restaurant is sourced from markets in Miyagi Prefecture. Miyagi Prefecture: Kaisen Sushi Shiogama Port (Main Branch) This renowned restaurant once ranked first nationwide in the conveyor-belt sushi category on Tabelog and has continued to maintain a top-tier national reputation ever since.
The interior is bright and has a nice atmosphere. It seemed to be more like rows of seats than actual tables.
This is what a standing sushi counter looks like. Since I’m eating alone, a standing sushi counter is plenty for me. The advantage of eating standing up is that you don’t end up eating too slowly, and since you’re standing, it’s easier to move around than when you’re seated.
The menu, too. Ordering via the digital touchscreen.
It supported multiple languages. However, the touch panel is designed in a way that makes it a bit complicated and difficult to use.
The sushi on the far right—made with tuna and wrapped in some mysterious seaweed—was shark fin sushi. The taste was just okay, and the texture was something I’d never experienced before. I wasn’t quite sure if it actually had any flavor.
Anyway, the sushi toppings feel large compared to the rice. Also, each chef has their own style, so the size of the rice portion varies depending on who’s preparing it. I was surprised by how different it was because the chefs rotate shifts here. The prices are generally on the high side, so it’s more about savoring each bite than eating a lot. This time, I wasn’t completely full, but I felt satisfied because I was full enough. The total came to 3,410 yen.
I was very satisfied again today.
Thank you for your support.
