The Planet of Sushi
We went there because we wanted to enjoy some delicious sake and sushi. “Sushi no Wakusei”
The restaurant is really bustling right now. There were even some foreign visitors—I wonder how they found out about it. It’s not even that well-known among Japanese people yet. It really is an information-driven society. Since I came here today to drink some sake, I’ll give my usual taste review.
The restaurant was absolutely bustling, and since it was just before 7:00, beer and other drinks were on happy hour specials.
With its traditional izakaya atmosphere and interesting decorative touches, the place is always packed.
I’m going to evaluate some sake. Another cozy night of drinking alone today.
This time, I drank Seafood Junmai.
Looking at the rice polishing ratio, this junmai sake is polished to 70%, which is higher than 50%. This ratio allows the flavor of the rice to come through clearly.
I looked into it. They used white koji to brew a refreshing sake with a tartness reminiscent of citrus fruits like lemon. It’s perfect for oyster bars and is a popular product overseas in Europe, North America, and Australia. The manufacturer notes that, compared to typical sake, it has a higher acidity, so they recommend enjoying it as you would a white wine.
It’s colorless and transparent. It doesn’t have much of a scent.
No color at all
It’s easy to drink. Rather than being crisp, it has a distinctive tartness on the finish. The flavor changes when paired with seafood or other dishes that have a strong aroma. I compared it to other sakes. While other sakes seem to fade away on the finish, this sake leaves a distinctive aftertaste.
Since we were at a restaurant today, I paired it with the following dishes.
There are a few interesting items on the menu. Both the sushi and the fish taste great.
As expected, sake goes really well with vinegar.
The tempura at this restaurant has a light batter and is delicious. Since it’s served fresh out of the fryer, be sure to eat it as soon as possible after it’s brought to your table. It’s a restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food.
I was very satisfied again today.
Thank you for your support.
