I wanted to eat yakitori, so I went to a yakitori restaurant. Here are some yakitori restaurants in Japan. The way of ordering is unique, so please learn from this and try it when you come to Japan.

I visited “Yamatoya” this time. It is a yakitori restaurant where you eat standing up. There are two areas: one is for a large group of people and the other is a counter area where you can eat alone.

At the counter, you talk to the waiter in front of you and place your order. In the large group area, please talk to the waiter who is hanging around.

Most yakitori restaurants will ask about seasoning. Many yakitori restaurants will ask for seasoning, either tare or shio. Tare is sweet and spicy. Shio (salt) is a refreshing seasoning with Japanese poppy seeds. The restaurant is crowded, so please speak loudly.

This is a unique place to start. Originally, the bill is paid at once after you have ordered, but at this restaurant, you pay in cash for each order. So please have cash ready.

When you are ready, put the food in a colander. The change will be returned to the colander.

The kitchen is always busy. The washed glasses are immediately filled with drinks again and served.

This method is not often seen. Japanese people understand this system somewhat by looking at it. But foreigners who are not accustomed to this system may be confused. Please learn from this and try the authentic and tasty yakitori.

Not famous but poor quality. Some unique sushi. Medium sized sushi bar

Sake alone in the dust today.

Today I am in Omiya, Saitama. It takes about 30 minutes from Tokyo Station by train.

Visited a conveyor-belt sushi bar called Uobei. There is a conveyor-belt sushi bar in Tokyo, but I had to go to Omiya for an appointment.

It is not easy to find, but there is a conveyor belt sushi bar on the fourth floor of the building.

Most sushi bars are located on the first floor facing the street in order to stand out from the crowd, but this one is tucked away on the fourth floor of a building! The restaurant is located on the fourth floor of a building.

I found a good restaurant. Japanese Izakaya Tempura Tendon

Today, too, I’m drinking alone in the dust. I really wanted to try some tempura and sushi, so I went to a restaurant in Monzennaka-cho, Tokyo.

I immediately ordered a beer and had some egg tempura!

At this restaurant, you order drinks by asking the waiter, but you order food by writing the quantity on a piece of paper.

I went to a sake brewery a few hours drive from Tokyo and saw it.

Outside, there is a sake factory, where an important source of groundwater is available for drinking.

The Hakushu whiskey factory and beer brewery are located near the brewery, testifying to the quality of the water.

Traditional Kaitenzushi style. Shinbashi, a businessman’s town

I visited a traditional Japanese sushi bar because I suddenly felt like going there. It is a conveyor-belt sushi bar where sushi is made in front of your eyes, not by a machine.

The best thing about this restaurant is that all sushi is uniformly priced.

The interior is broken down and a bit cramped, but this is what a revolving sushi bar should be.

I visited Yamaguchi, the birthplace of UNIQLO.

I would like to introduce Yamaguchi Prefecture, which has produced the largest number of prime ministers (Hirofumi Ito,Yamagata Aritomo,Katsurataro,Masatake Terauchi, Gichi Tanaka, Kishi Nobusuke, Eisaku Sato, Shinzo Abe, Naoto Kan) in Japan, and among them, Shimonoseki City.

Shimonoseki City is located across the sea from Fukuoka Prefecture. (Fukuoka Prefecture can be seen on the opposite shore.)

Shimonoseki City (下関) and Moji (門司) Ward in Kitakyushu City.

The sea is called “Kanmon Kaikyo(関門)” (Straits of Shimonoseki and Moji Ward of Kitakyushu City), which is made up of parts of these two kanji characters.

This city has a special product.

It is the puffer fish. It is poisonous and requires a special license to cook.

On the other hand, the meat is firm and slightly sweet.

It is sure to go well with sake. (-Please try it with Dassai”獺祭”.)

Actually, eating fugu was prohibited.

The reason for this was that many people had died from fugu’s poison.

However, the first prime minister, Hirobumi Ito (born in Yamaguchi Prefecture), was so impressed by the taste of puffer fish that the ban on eating puffer fish was lifted.

This is Karato Market, which has the largest catch in Japan.

On holidays, the market is so crowded with tourists that there is a waiting time in the parking lot.
