On a weekday, even though I avoided peak hours, I still had to wait in line. It was under the blazing sun for about 20 minutes. Since it was a weekday, the people in line were mostly young men who looked like students. I couldn’t see inside the store, so I had no idea how crowded it was, and there was no sign of anyone coming out—only two groups that looked like student parties came out occasionally.

Rules for Waiting in Line

They also have a unique way of lining up—they ask customers to line up at the edge of the sidewalk. Lunch hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I entered the store at the shop clerk’s urging

Seating includes counter seats, the table where I sat, and seats on the second floor. There are more seats than I expected. The staff consists of a Japanese manager and other staff members from Asian countries. Lockers are provided to store your belongings so they don’t get exposed to smoke.

The menu with photos is plastered all over the wall. The menu I have in my hand doesn’t have any photos.

Except for lunch, it’s not exactly cheap. Prices are about average.

As you can see, it’s 1,250 yen for 45 minutes.

All-you-can-eat meat. Here’s how it works: First, you choose one of the sets shown in the photo—A, B, or C. After that, if you want more, you can order individual items from this selection as you like. You can also get unlimited refills of rice, soup, and onion salad. The meat includes heart, liver, and thigh—not the usual cuts like kalbi or loin. Still, it’s delicious enough to leave you satisfied. Above all, it’s great to be able to eat until you’re full.

The portion of rice was about the size of a large serving, so I was surprised at first, but I was actually able to finish it all.

The man next to me must have been a regular—he ordered “double” portions of meat. He started by grilling the meat first, then arranged it on top of his rice to create his own custom yakiniku bowl. While he was eating, he ordered more meat; when the new batch arrived, he grilled it again, all the while continuing to tuck into his bowl and grilling more meat at the same time. With his seamless, efficient movements from start to finish, he ate until he was completely full.

Since it’s a yakiniku wholesaler, the meat is very fresh, and it has the kind of atmosphere you’d expect from a casual yakiniku restaurant.

I was very satisfied again today.

Thank you for your support.

Jimbocho Shokuniku Center: Tokyo’s Famous ¥1,000 All-You-Can-Eat Yakiniku Guide

Meta Description: Looking for Tokyo’s ultimate budget food hack? Discover Jimbocho Shokuniku Center (神保町食肉センター) for a legendary 45-minute all-you-can-eat Yakiniku lunch for just ¥1,000 (~$7 USD). Enjoy morning-fresh liver, heart, pork thigh, and unlimited rice.

What is Jimbocho Shokuniku Center ?

Jimbocho Shokuniku Center is one of Tokyo’s most iconic budget dining destinations, highly celebrated among local foodies and international travelers alike. Directly operated by a fresh meat wholesaler, it receives premium Joshu pork and beef daily from Gunma Prefecture.

While it functions as a high-quality Japanese BBQ (yakiniku) restaurant in the evening, its 45-minute all-you-can-eat (AYCE) lunch buffet for just ¥1,000 (approx. $6.50 – $7.00 USD) draws long lines every single day.

Key Highlights for International Travelers

1. Unbeatable Value & Cost Performance

  • All-Inclusive Price: For roughly ¥1,000 (Cash Only), you get 45 minutes of unlimited refills of fresh meat, rice, fresh onion salad, and wakame soup.
  • Wholesaler Freshness: Meat is delivered directly from the processing plant every morning, offering a level of quality and flavor far superior to standard budget buffets.

2. Signature Morning-Cut Meat Options

  • Morning-Cut Liver & Heart : The restaurant’s most famous specialty. The liver is exceptionally fresh, sweet, and completely odorless—frequently selling out before noon.
  • Pork Thigh : Tender, thin-sliced pork served with sweet soy sauce (tare) or salt seasoning.
  • Neck P-Toro : Rich, juicy pork neck marinated in savory miso paste.

How the Lunch System Works

Due to its popularity and fast-paced nature, the lunch buffet follows a very specific ordering routine:

  1. The Queue: Arrive early! Lines usually start forming by 10:30 AM for the 11:30 AM opening.
  2. First Order (Starter Set): When seated, choose one initial combination to begin:
    • Set A: Pork Thigh (Salt) + Neck P-Toro (Miso)
    • Set B: Pork Thigh (Sauce) + Neck P-Toro (Miso)
    • Set C: Fresh Liver (Salt) + Heart (Salt) (Most Popular)
  3. Ordering Refills: Once you finish your starter plate completely, you can reorder any single meat item in your preferred flavor (Salt, Tare Sauce, or Miso) one plate at a time.
  4. Time Limit & Last Call: The dining limit is strictly 45 minutes. Last call for food refills is given at the 35-minute mark (10 minutes before time expires).
